This defined the second stage of the journey of Jacques Kerchache, of the development of his knowledge, and thus, also defines the second stage of the visit. In the main room on the ground floor, the sculptures are placed at their post like guardians keeping the evil spirits from entering the house. There weren’t many statues of this kind to exhibit and they were all very similar. I would have loved to show the houses, but the idea wasn’t to create a film set. Just to exhibit the objects.
That was the only choice.
